IMS Interactive eLearning is self-paced, which means that employees can complete courses at any time and at their own speed, without having to ask for an instructor to adjust the pace of the course. Interactive presentation and testing ensures that the information is absorbed, and participants are graded immediately. Most courses offer a printable certificate upon satisfactory completion of all of the lessons.
Many IMS Interactive eLearning courses also include downloadable PDF reference documents. Glossary and Help files are also available.
Although some topics lend themselves well to eLearning, other lessons are better suited to in-class or experience-based learning. For example, the Incident Command System I-200 and I-300 courses are offered in a blended format: the first half of each course is offered online, where students learn theory and terminology. The second half of the course is a practical exercise, where students participate in either tabletop scenarios or live field exercises.
