Incidents and near misses tend to be under-reported, partly because the process of reporting is cumbersome and done solely out of necessity for documentation. Opportunities for improvement and documentation are missed because the reporting and documentation is seen as negative - a time-consuming, onerous task that is not always followed up on. Tasks and data often must be duplicated in multiple formats as the incident moves through notification, alert, reporting, investigation, and follow-up stages, assuming that the appropriate paper forms are easy to find and available to all. When it is a hassle to do, Incident Reporting becomes a low priority.
Through the IMS Global Corp Client Portal, Incident Reporting is simple, effective, and available to any employee with an Internet connection and password. When the online form is filled out and updated in the database, relevant data is automatically populated in future stages as the incident moves through the system. Notifications and alerts are automatically sent out to the relevant personnel, management, and/or leadership based on the severity of the incident.
The IMS Incident Reporting module integrates seamlessly with the Asset Management module, as data from incident reports automatically generate work orders for future actions to repair, inspect, or replace assets or to follow up with hazard control if necessary.
